Building on the long standing of the Malaysia-France partnership, Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) welcomed His Excellency Marc Abensour, Ambassador of France to Malaysia and delegates from the Embassy of France, Naval Group, GICAN and our Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners from France namely Thales, AXIMA, DCI, EXAIL and SeaOwl on 22 September 2026.

Aligned with the aspirations of the National Defence Industry Policy (NDIP), the collaboration with partners from France through the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) programme, with opportunities for future collaboration, reflects how international cooperation can translate into local expertise, capabilities and industrial growth.

These efforts reflect LUNAS’s commitment to building not only ships, but also the people and capabilities that contribute to building the nation.
