Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) received an official visit from YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Minister of Defence, on 19 May 2026 to address the current challenges pertaining to the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) programme and to ensure continued progress towards delivery within the agreed timeline.

During the visit, YB Dato’ Seri observed first-hand the updated progress of LCS Programme, including system demonstrations and operational performance on board, following his previous update to Parliament on 28 January 2026.

Accompanying him were YBhg. Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Defence; Admiral Tan Sri (Dr.) Zulhelmy Ithnain, Chief of Navy, Royal Malaysian Navy; and Vice Admiral Dato’ Baharudin Wan Md Nor, Commander of the Western Fleet, Royal Malaysian Navy.
