Building on the strong momentum generated during DSA & NATSEC 2026, followed by the first embarkation of LCS1 sea trial, LUNAS was honoured to welcome YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance II on 16 May 2026, a significant reflection of the Government’s continued commitment, confidence and strategic leadership in ensuring the successful delivery of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) programme.

The visit reflects the Government’s strategic leadership through Minister of Finance Incorporated in strengthening the governance and execution of the LCS programme. Today, the project is progressing with greater structure, transparency and accountability with tangible physical advancement, stronger delivery discipline and growing stakeholder confidence becoming increasingly evident.

During the visit, YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan witnessed first-hand the vessel’s performance at sea and received a briefing on the integration and functionality of the Combat Management System.

Strengthened governance continues to serve as a key driver in accelerating project implementation, ensuring the LCS programme is executed in a more orderly, systematic and responsible manner in support of Malaysia’s long-term national defence objectives.

Also accompanying the visit were YBhg. Datuk Dr. Shahrazat Haji Ahmad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of LUNAS and Puan Nor Azizati Hamzah, Undersecretary, Government Investment Companies Division, Ministry of Finance.
