
On 21 July 2025, Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) proudly participated in the 4th Personal Data Protection Conference, reaffirming the organisation’s strong commitment to integrity, governance, and compliance. Representing LUNAS as a panelist was Mr. Norjasman Jalaludin, Head of Risk Management & Integrity, who spoke during the second session titled “Roles and Responsibilities of the Data Protection Officer (DPO).”
The session offered valuable insights into the application of the TRUST Model in implementing personal data protection within organisations. Key areas such as governance, internal controls, and employee training were highlighted, providing practical perspectives to strengthen internal compliance frameworks.
LUNAS remains steadfast in enhancing governance, internal processes, and awareness across the organisation in alignment with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). This commitment is upheld across all LUNAS entities, including Lumut Yard, the Corporate Office in Kuala Lumpur, and the Langkawi Shipyard, reflecting a group-wide focus on accountability and responsible data management.
Their participation underscored the organisation’s collective support for the PDPA and its dedication to Defining Excellence through responsible data stewardship.
The conference was held at Hotel Cititel, Penang, and officiated by Mr. Norman Anak Peter, Deputy Director General of the Personal Data Protection Department (JPDP)It brought together 220 Data Users from associations, corporations, industries, and statutory bodies across Penang, Kedah, Perlis and Perak, serving as a meaningful platform for industry-wide dialogue and the exchange of data protection best practices.
