YB Senator Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Minister of Finance II, visited Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) on August 4, 2024 as part of his working visit to Lumut, Perak. He was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Finance, YB Lim Hui Ying, Deputy Secretary General of Treasury (Investment), YBhg. Datuk Dr. Shahrazat Ahmad, LUNAS Board of Directors (BOD) together with delegation from Ministry of Finance.

During the visit, the Minister of Finance II was briefed on the progress of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) project by LUNAS Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ir. Azhar Jumaat. The delegation was then taken aboard of LCS 1 to gain deeper understanding into the ongoing construction of the vessel. The tour also included a thorough assessment of the shipyard facilities and a visit to the storage warehouse, where the Minister was given an overview of the logistical and material management processes involved. Director General of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) LCS Project, First Admiral Ir. Ts. Franklin Jeyasekhar Joseff was also present to provide further details on the technical aspects and phases of the LCS project.
