LUNAS strikes again! We are proud to announce that Lumut Naval Shipyard (LUNAS) has been awarded the Malaysia Public-Private Partnership of the Year – Maritime & Ports at the GovMedia Conference & Awards 2025, held on 19 June 2025 at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore.

This prestigious recognition by GovMedia, a platform that celebrates outstanding government-linked initiatives across Asia and honours companies involved in impactful public-sector projects, highlights LUNAS’s contributions to national development through its strategic role in the defence sector.

Appointed by the Malaysian Government, LUNAS is proud to undertake the construction of five Littoral Combat Ships (LCS) for the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN). This project is not only a cornerstone of Malaysia’s maritime defence strategy but also a key driver of local job creation, technology transfer, and the growth of a more self-reliant national defence industry.

Our role in delivering this high-impact programme reflects a deep commitment to advancing Malaysia’s maritime capabilities while building enduring expertise in complex naval construction. These contributions formed the foundation of this award, recognising the strengthened public-private partnership between LUNAS and the Government, and our ability to execute defence projects that directly support national security, economic development, and technical excellence.

The award was received by our CEO, Ir. Azhar Jumaat, who accepted the honour on behalf of the entire LUNAS team. This recognition is a tribute to our people, whose collective efforts are defined by resilience, discipline, and a shared national purpose.
